Worth knowing...

Main pic

Hiya! ^-^  This isn’t one of those first post ‘Friends Only’ entries you often see, but rather some important info about this blog in case you skipped my profile bio =3.

-    I’m an open person online – my blog is readable to anyone and I do not use filters
-    I try to tag all my entries accordingly
-    If you're sensitive to certain topics, judge entries based on their tags or Userpic before proceeding
-    This blog contains ageplay/ABDL and furry/babyfur content ~ if this is too much information then don't read it
-    Names are replaced with pseudonyms or usernames ~ if you’d like yours removed from an entry just let me know
-    I tend not to friend or friend back people I’ve never met or gotten to know ~ don't hesitate to PM me, it's totally cool! :D

Thanks for reading thus far and I hope you enjoy (or find interesting) whatever else beyond this!  =P

Do More Mondays - #45 - "Kids Help Phone"

Main pic
Suicide happens when a person has lost all hope.  It is a final attempt to end really intense suffering, but it is not a solution.  People who end their lives this way leave the people who care about them with a lifetime of sadness, confusion, hurt and despair.

This week I'm making a donation to 'Kids Help Phone' ~ a Canadian anonymous phone and online counselling, referral and information service for children and youth.  The service provides counselling to youth who seek it by calling a toll-free number or posting anonymously on their website.  Kids talk to Kids Help Phone when kids don't know who to talk to.  They are there for anything; from trouble with homework to dealing with loss and grief to thoughts of suicide, kids can talk to Kids Help Phone about anything.  Professional counsellors provide anonymous, confidential and non-judgemental support.  They are the only organization that has access to a database of over 37,000 local resources.  That means that no matter where a kid is calling from, our professional counsellors can connect them to a service right
in their community, whether they need a place to stay for the night, a way-home or a sexual health clinic.

Even though everyone needs help sometimes, stigma around mental and emotional health struggle remains strong. The threat of being judged or labeled can leave both adults and kids reluctant to seek help.

I challenge anyone to do more.

(LiveJournal is having format issues so I can't copy and past my '52 Week Progress' like usual)

Fail blog...

I tried writing an entry today but I was only able to get so far before being disappointed with LiveJournal.  The layout of my entry was being double spaced for whatever reason and I had no control over adjust the size of pictures.  I'm not happy ~ I haven't written in a while and when I find the time to do so this website acts up.  I'm going to use LJBook to back everything up and then find a new blogging website.  Until then I probably won't be posting with the exception for 'Do More Mondays'.

Thanks for stopping by, take care! :)

Do More Mondays - #44 - "Easter Seals"

Main pic
Hiya!  I hope everyone's week started off well!  Mine has been pretty loopy for the past week and a half ~ an odd mix of fun times and complicated feelings ~ so I've still got a lot on my plate to work through and won't be writing much again.  But that's okay, even though I prefer to do it at my own pace by myself I know that my friends are always there to support me!

Everyone can use a bit of support, some more than others, for various reasons.  That is why this week I'm making a donation to 'Easter Seals' ~ Canada’s largest local provider of programs, services, issues-leadership and development for the disability community, they are dedicated to helping more than 100,000 Canadians with disabilities participate fully in society.  Easter Seals provincial organizations offer transformative programs and services at the local level, the best known of which are Easter Seals camp programs.  Every year thousands of children challenge themselves while having the time of their lives at 15 Easter Seals camps nationwide.  Other services include year-round active living opportunities, as well as the provision of specialized mobility and access equipment such as mobility aids, assistive technology, adaptive computers, augmentative communication devices and adaptations to homes and vehicles for wheelchair accessibility.  Normally these assistive aids are cost prohibitive for most people and families. With help from its donors and sponsors, Easter Seals works to ensure that everyone with a disability has access to the equipment and services they need to make the most of their abilities.

I challenge anyone to do more.

little fur
NEWS!  I got the munch listed among other like minded folks on LittlesMunch.com ~ big thanks to spacey, who makes up one half of the ever so awesome 'Big Little Podcast'.  A forwarding email address for the munch was also created - TorontoMunch@littlesmunch.com - so that's pretty spiffy and legitimate looking! :D  I'll be tinkering with the event details later to make it look a bit cleaner.

Also, I won't be attending this months munch :(  But Boyricky and [info]orca_and_mommy will be there if you need a familiar face to look for! :3

(I haven't been feeling like myself today so unfortunately I won't be writing anything further ~ the next section is a copy & paste)

The Children’s Aid Foundation is committed to funding programs that improve the lives of abused, neglected and at risk children and youth. The Foundation works with child welfare organizations across the country to deliver innovative programs that support our three pillars of hope: Prevention, Enrichment & Education.

Our three pillar approach meets the immediate and urgent needs of at risk children and youth, and plants the seeds for a brighter future for children and youth that, ultimately, strengthens our communities. With everyone’s support, we can ensure that the number of children and youth who benefit from these programs can increase exponentially.

With more than 300,000 children at risk of abuse and neglect in Canada, our ability to fund programs to give these children and youth hope for the future is critical. At the Children’s Aid Foundation we believe that providing help and support before the cycle of disadvantage can be replicated, giving children and youth the opportunity to participate in recreational and cultural activities, and giving these young people the chance to pursue their dreams through education gives them the tools and skills they need to reach their full potential.
